Rocky Edwards is a distinguished Forensic Firearm Examiner with over 42 years of law enforcement experience, including 37 years dedicated to forensic science. He began his career as a Special Agent with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), where he served for years as a Special Agent, Rocky then received specialized training at the U.S. Army Crime Laboratory the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, and Wound Ballistics at Letterman Army Medical Center. Rocky Served as at the US Army Crime Laboratory in Germany and Ft. Gillem, GA, Following his military service, Mr. Edwards spent 20 years as the Forensic Firearms Examiner for the Santa Ana Police Department and served as a consultant for
the Los Angeles and Stockton Police Departments. His extensive background encompasses microscopic analysis, wound ballistics, and complex shooting reconstruction.
Rocky has testified as an expert witness in over 550 firearms-related cases for both the prosecution and defense. He is a distinguished member of the Association of Firearm & Toolmark Examiners, and is qualified as an expert in Forensic Firearm and Toolmark Identification and Shooting Reconstruction in U.S. Federal Court, California Superior Court, and military courts across NATO countries. His reconstruction experience ranges from domestic officer-involved shootings to combat incidents in Somalia and Yugoslavia. Currently, he serves as President of Rock Forensic Firearms Consulting Inc., where he specializes in officer-involved shootings and provides expert analysis for federal and state criminal cases for both Defense and Prosecution. Rocky has worked many high profile cases throughout his career and has consulted for and participated in documentaries and other media.
