Dr. Heather Heider is a distinguished forensic science consultant, possessing both a Doctorate of Forensic Science and a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Oklahoma StateUniversity, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Physics from California Polytechnic University,

Pomona.

With a career spanning over three (3) decades, Dr. Heider’s expertise is rooted in her extensive

experience, including crime scene investigation, training, and as the Forensic Services Supervisor for the Santa Ana Police Department from 2003 to 2019, where she managed a high-volume hybrid crime lab encompassing crime scene, forensic firearms, latent print/chemistry, and photo/video units. This extensive background paved the way for her currentrole as President of Axiom Forensics, a consulting agency specializing in Crime Scene

Reconstruction, Shooting Reconstruction, Training, and Forensic Science Policy & Procedure.

An active contributor to the forensic community, Dr. Heider has been an invited speaker, presenter, and trainer on various forensic science-related topics. Her academic focus includes advanced coursework in areas critical to the international forensic dialogue and specific to crimescene reconstruction. Dr. Heider is highly experienced in shooting reconstruction, having provided expert testimony and/or consultation in more than 100 officer-involved shooting cases and numerous criminal cases for both the prosecution and defense.
